I just had a Canary Island Date Palm die, how do I protect the others in my yard from this weevil?

There is no product that will provide 100% protection from the palmetto weevil. But there are some that will help. I should not give pesticide advice especially since I don’t know where you are located. Every county in the country has a Cooperative Extension office which is part of the land grant college in your state. Usually you can find your local Extension Service office under county listings or go online and pull up you state Extension Service where you can find you county and your local office. Then ask to speak with the horticulture agent. They will give you the name of the products that are approved for your state and the palm species.
